How we compare
- Official sources only. Every spec comes from the manufacturer’s own product page. Each “Check price” link points to that page today.
- Dated prices. Prices are what the brand’s official US site showed on the date stated (2026-10-15 for this release). If a sale price was showing, we say so. Prices change, so check before you buy.
- Blank beats a guess. If we can’t verify a number, the cell says “Not verified.” We never estimate or fill in specs.
- Like-for-like where possible. Weights are labeled as the brand labels them (packed, minimum, total). Those aren’t always comparable, so check the label.
- Ratings aren’t standardized. Some brands list a sleeping bag’s survival rating, others a comfort or limit rating. We show the brand’s number and method and don’t rank bags by it. Sleeping pad R-values mostly follow ASTM F3340, which makes them more comparable.
- Highlights are math. In comparison tables we mark the highest or lowest number in a row. That isn’t a recommendation.
- Spec-compared, not tested. We don’t claim hands-on testing. Any future field test will be labeled and documented.
- Commissions don’t change rankings. Sorting is by price or spec only.
